Even at 16, I still am distinctly overjoyed by sight of
toys—now, imagine if there are in every corner! Yes, I said it right, there is LEGO
everywhere (after all, it is LEGOLAND). As what the name suggests, being a land
of LEGOs comes all kinds of entertainment and activities that are LEGO-themed. There
are structures of famous attractions from all around the world built from LEGOs
(here’s the renowned India’s Taj Mahal and a certain Chinese temple, anyone
care to enlighten me what it is?) with LEGO characters representing people
according to their nationalities. What’s more impressive about these
attractions is that they are made interactive, when pressed it does special
acts like make sounds, spurt water (I was one of the unfortunate victims), and
even move (who knew LEGO Minifigures could dance and play instruments?). I must
say, they’d do better in a talent show than I could.
This whole trip to Malaysia came very unexpectedly for me
(prolly because I was not well aware of our travel itineraries). Nonetheless,
I'm incredibly grateful for it. Johor Bahru, Malaysia was only a few hours away
from Singapore via taxi, shuttle, or bus. But know that you need to go through
immigration for both Singapore and Malaysia, so the best advice I could give is
for you to bring important documents like your passport or an identification
card.
Back
to being a kid again as we hop from one theme park (USS) to another. Like the
USS, it has rides, shows, activities, toys to play with, souvenir shops, and
dining areas each varying in themes and attractions. From yesterday's hangover,
my options of rides were cut back stagily. But it was lovely how my little
cousins enjoyed it so much.
Let me share to you how my day went. Upon arrival, I went straight ahead to the LEGO Ninjago: The Realm of Shadows live show. It is without a doubt a must-see for its advanced special effects (in light of the illusions, video mapping and the like being presented on stage), theatrical immersion, audience interactivity, and to further that, it is the world’s very first Ninjago live show introduced to a LEGOLAND park.
Before I could even line up for a ride, I was already
seemingly distracted by LEGO toys challenging my creativity. I had been an hour
busy building whatever I could think of. Oh, how could I even forget? Most of
the time I formed hearts of different sizes and colors around my former lover’s
initials (I am too hurt to be posting a photo of it).
I didn’t want to leave my masterpiece behind just yet but my
stomach was rumbling terribly that quite a few may hear it. Lunch served at
Market Restaurant is commendable—the menu, whether Asian or Western, is offered
at wide variety so you won’t run out of options to choose from, the indoor and
outdoor seating is perfect in reckon with the warm weather, the lighting and
ambience (along with its splendid view of the park) is a winner.
I only got to try a few rides and those are the Boating
School that made me a captain of my very own battery-powered boat, the Express
Train which toured me around the park, and I am quite uncertain of what that
other ride was called.
Those who are huge Star Wars fans would definitely enjoy
Star Wars Miniland. It features seven scenes from the six Star Wars films in
seven rooms of more than 2,000 LEGO models of your favorite characters like
Yoda, R2-D2, Darth Vader and the legendary Sith Lords packed with sounds,
actions and lighting effects.
It was a great experience all-in-all. To know more about the
resort, drop by their official website at http://www.legoland.com.my/.
