Universal Studios Singapore

Monday, July 25, 2016 By Glennie Rem 0 Comments

"Scream from the peaks, hold hands through the dips, laugh through the loops, and enjoy every twist and turn." I have never been that overjoyed my whole life. When I found out we were visiting Singapore, being an avid fan of theme parks and generally anything that makes me live my youth, the absolute thing that had me thrilled— Tripadvisor's #1 theme park in Asia, Universal Studios! Unfortunately, because I was all wrapped up by its movie-themed rides, I forgot I had an obligation to take pictures for the blog. (I guess I'll just be yapping and yapping about how my day went)

You wouldn't believe what I rode first— Battlestar Galactica: Cyclon and up next, Human (the world's tallest pairs of dueling roller coasters), but worse luck, motion sickness took the amusement right of the experience. I had to rest for an hour before trying the Transformers ride in 4-D.

Next stop, ancient Egypt! Its main attraction is the 1930's era of Egypt, which features pyramids, Pharaoh's tomb, ancient Egyptian women, and not to mention the Revenge of the Mummy ride (the primary reason why I lost my voice the moment after).

There are plenty of photo opportunities throughout the day with various characters from Sesame Street, Transformers, Shrek, Despicable Me and oh, how could I forget, a whole bunch of celebrities (if not look-a-likes, then  effigies). I met Vin Diesel, Marilyn Monroe (her reincarnation), and a lot more up-close and personal! (Dad's a huge Despicable Me fan)

It was almost closing time but I haven't tried all the rides yet, so if you want to avoid major ride queues, I recommend that you buy an express pass so you could go straight to the front of the line and board rides without delay. All in all, it was a fun-filled day and I can honestly say it was the happiest I've ever been. Who wouldn't be if you're surrounded by 7 themed zoned: Far Far Away, New York, Madagascar, Hollywood, Sci-Fi City, Ancie nt Egypt, and The Lost World? Plus, each of  these zones has rides, character appearances, shopping and dining areas.

For visitors to Singapore I would definitely have Universal Studios high on my list of things to do whilst in town. For more information go to www.rwsentosa.com.
